Yet another successful Open Show was held at the Railway Club on September 20th by the members of Grantham Bird Society. All attending enjoyed a great day at the show which included the Open air BBQ, tom bola and raffle with many excellent prizes.

This year the show attracted more local visitors than ever before and these people also enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which the whole event was held.

An impressive figure of 391 birds being benched with the Fife classes totaling 164 of the total overall meaning the show venue was full to bursting with wall to wall birds, all of an excellent standard.

Please see below the main winners from the 4 sections and full results for the show.

Best Budgerigar - Steve Speed

Best Foreign - Trevor Woodruff

Best British - Robert Windle

Best Canary - Henry Johnson

The entire membership of Grantham Bird Society wishes to thank all those who contributed to making the day a success once again from the members who set up the event, those that worked very hard during the event, Rob Windle and Stuart Randell as Show Sec’s and all exhibitors who came to make our open show a great time for all.

Stuart and Rob working hard on all the paperwork for the day.

Special thanks also must go to Barbara Cragg, Adele Cragg and Angela Starbuck for their sterling work in looking after the teas and general refreshments and also the tom bola and raffle throughout the day and not forgetting Shaun Blakey for his excellent service on the BBQ which many visitors sampled at breakfast and lunchtime.
